Queen Letizia and King Felipe of Spain landed in Vienna on Monday. A tight program awaits the royals in Austria.

Queen Letizia (49) and King Felipe of Spain (54) were received in Austria on Monday in a corona-compliant manner. The Spanish Royals were welcomed at Schwechat Airport by Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg (52) around noon before they went to downtown Vienna. There they were expected by Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen (78) and the Army Guard of Honor in the Hofburg.

On site, everyone involved wore an FFP2 mask and adhered to the distance rules. Letizia appeared in a sophisticated ensemble of a houndstooth midi dress, a black wool coat, black pumps and a black handbag with a croc print and gold details. King Felipe kept it simple and classic with a dark blue suit and coat look.

Full program in Austria

Inside the Hofburg, a few Spanish and Austrian delicacies awaited the royal couple: such as gazpacho, zander from Lake Neusiedl, saddle of venison from the Vienna Woods, apple strudel and Sachertorte.

In the afternoon, Felipe and Letizia went on to the memorial against war and fascism on Albertinaplatz to commemorate the victims of National Socialism. The two then gave autographs to some fans. This was followed by the opening of an art exhibition in Belvedere Palace.
