Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee Jubilee dessert has been found. A lemon and amaretto trifle won a competition.

The so-called platinum pudding is chosen! On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s throne (96), a dessert worthy of the queen was sought in a competition. In the final, 31-year-old Jemma Melvin prevailed with her creation. Her trifle, a typical English layered biscuit dessert, officially follows in the footsteps of the “Coronation Chicken” of 2002, when the Queen’s 1953 coronation dish was reinterpreted for the Golden Jubilee.

The winner was announced on Thursday night’s BBC program The Jubilee Pudding: 70 years in the baking. The “Platinum Pudding” trifle consists of lemon curd, lemon pudding, amaretto biscuits, tangerine puree, whipped cream and chocolate chips, among other things. After her triumph, the beaming winner thanked her grandmother, who taught her how to bake.

Duchess Camilla announced the winner of the competition

Duchess Camilla (74) announced the winning recipe on the show. In total, more than 5,000 recipes have been submitted for the competition since January 2022. After a preselection, 50 desserts were tasted by a jury. In the finale, the remaining five best desserts were left over. The platinum pudding got just hours after the announcement already has its own Wikipedia page donated.
