Queen must cancel attendance at memorial service

After health problems, Queen Elizabeth II has to cancel a planned participation in a memorial service.
Renewed concern for the British Queen: Queen Elizabeth II (95) had firmly planned to attend a memorial service as part of today’s Remembrance Sunday. As reported by the BBC, citing Buckingham Palace, the monarch had to cancel at short notice.
The 95-year-old therefore has to struggle with back problems. According to the palace, the Queen is “disappointed” at missing the memorial service. Her Majesty was determined to attend the service, it had been said at the end of October. On behalf of the Queen, Prince Charles, who celebrates his 73rd birthday on November 14th, will lay a wreath.
Charles had last assured at an event in London that his mother was comfortable. When asked about the Queen’s health, British media reports said he replied, “She is fine, thank you.”
Ordered rest
In October it became known that the Queen had to take further care on medical advice. After she was asked to slow down earlier, “Her Majesty’s doctors have recommended that her rest for at least the next two weeks,” it said. This renewed rest was ordered as a “precautionary measure”, an anonymous source told the Guardian.
The Queen had previously canceled a trip to Northern Ireland and spent one night in the hospital. The palace had justified the stay in the clinic with “preliminary examinations”. Elizabeth II later canceled a planned participation in the COP26 climate summit in Scotland.
