The Queen spoke to doctors and patients about her experience with Corona. The disease leaves you “tired and exhausted”.

Queen Elizabeth II (95) spoke to employees of the British health service about the corona pandemic. She also reported on her own experiences. “It leaves you very tired and exhausted, doesn’t it?” she said in conversation with doctors, nurses and patients. And further: “This pandemic. It’s not a nice result.”

Queen on seriously ill patients: “They were also alone”

Speaking to an imam who works in hospitals, the Queen said that having “very bad Covid” must be a particularly bad experience. Regarding the seriously ill patients, the Imam explained: “I think what made it worse was that they only had each other.” The Queen added: “Exactly. They were also alone…”

The 95-year-old contracted the virus herself in February. The palace said at the time she had mild cold-like symptoms.

Health problems for months

In recent months, the Queen has had to step down again and again due to health problems. Most recently, she still took part in the weekly appointment with the prime minister, but not in other planned video calls. According to sources in the “Daily Mail”, this is due to her voice, which is said to have sounded “croaky”.

The monarch also skipped the Commonwealth Day service this year due to her limited mobility. However, she attended the memorial service for her late husband, Prince Philip (1921-2021), on March 29.
