Magical rainbow over London |
Heaven bids farewell to the Queen in royal style
Somewhere over the rainbow…
London is known for its unpredictable weather. But this moment will certainly not be forgotten by millions of Britons.
What a magical moment
When the news of Queen Elizabeth’s death († 96) on Thursday evening around 7.30 p.m. (German time) not only caused grief and shock to London, but the whole world, even heaven wanted to say hello.
After a day of bitter drizzle and clouds, the sky cleared. Over the capital of the United Kingdom: beautiful rainbows. They beamed over Trafalgar, Buckingham Palace, even over the “ London Bridge”, which had been known as the code word for the Queen’s death for years. But THAT wasn’t planned…
A moment that even brought tears to the eyes of the experienced moderator Christina von Ungern-Sternberg (43) in the ZDF special.
With a cracked voice, the TV journalist described the sight that moved her when she switched to England: “As if someone bigger had directed it. Maybe that’s a little sign…”
The tears in her eyes – they probably spoke to many people when they said goodbye to an institution – the Queen.
Most people in the world cannot remember any other British monarch. The Queen of England, Elizabeth II, she was always there, survived more than a dozen Prime Ministers, Chancellors, US Presidents, Wembley Gate and world and family crises in her own castles.
Now this farewell straight from heaven. A moment and an image of many that will remain after 96 years and a superhuman existence of Queen Elizabeth.
