Quartararo still forcefully destroys his team and displays his frustration

Fabio Quartararo is more than frustrated and made it clear after Saturday’s day at the Silverstone circuit. As the British Grand Prix takes place tomorrow, El Diablo will start from 22nd and last place on the starting grid. This Saturday morning, he failed to get out of Q1 and inherited the last place, also achieving the worst qualifications of his career. The Niçois then finished in 21st place in the sprint race in the afternoon, not feeling good sensations throughout the day. In words transcribed by Motorsport.com, the 2021 world champion did not hesitate to forcefully knock out Yamaha, assuring that there are many problems to be solved. He also displayed a very big frustration after a terrible day for him.

Quartararo blasts Yamaha

“Finishing 30 seconds in just ten laps is something I don’t understand. We tried a lot of things, we changed a lot of things during the race, but the problem remained the same. Basically, we lacks a lot of rear grip, you skate in a straight line. But also on corner entry: you have to lean the bike to enter and you can’t do it because there’s no grip, after which you can’t not bring speed into the corner. So there are many, many problems, not just one. It’s frustrating how slow you go [alors] that we push to the maximum, and it’s not just me. I see Mir, World Champion, Márquez, World Champion… I know very well that these are riders who know how to ride a lot. (On the problems of the Japanese manufacturers) We are all behind it, so we are definitely doing something wrong.”

El Diablo heavily frustrated

“I’ve had better days… In the race, even if I had started four or five positions ahead, I would have been 17th, 18th or 19th, so it wouldn’t have changed [quoi que ce soit]. We are really frustrated, we do not understand why we are so far. I gained a few positions at the start, except that my front device got stuck for a lap and a half. Even without that, as I said, I might have made 18th or 19th… The 15th, which was Franco [Morbidelli]finished right in front of me, not far away, so it didn’t change much.”

Quartararo announces the color for tomorrow

“For tomorrow, we will try something. In the warm-up, we hope the track will be dry. We will try a big change on the bike. Anyway, now we can only try to improve. Starting from this far, we’ll have to try something completely different. We have nothing to lose. My priority right now is to try to progress and be more in front, and I hope that we will be able to progress in the next races. But normally, it’s during the second part of the season that we really go downhill.”

The Frenchman seems in a terrible situation today and bluntly confided: “I wouldn’t say that I’m losing motivation, but I feel frustrated. It’s difficult. Mentally, it’s not easy because I have the feeling of riding well, but that’s not enough.” It’s very tense for the Niçois this season and it will quickly be necessary to find the first places so as not to crack definitively.

To sum up

Fabio Quartararo is more than frustrated and made it clear after Saturday’s day at the Silverstone circuit. As the British Grand Prix takes place tomorrow, El Diablo will start from 22nd and last place on the starting grid.
