Russia wants to recognize the breakaway Ukrainian regions of Luhansk and Donetsk as independent. A decision on this should be made as soon as possible, President Vladimir Putin said in Moscow on Monday. In a speech on the situation in eastern Ukraine, he describes this as historically Russian territory. Ukraine is an integral part of its own history. The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 deprived Russia and left it in a very difficult position. His country has always been open to cooperation with Ukraine. There, however, they had always only taken from Russia and had not been prepared to make any commitments. Ukraine stole gas and used it to blackmail Russia. Putin denies that Ukraine has its own state tradition. According to Putin, the country has never managed to create a stable state. That’s why Ukraine had to rely on other countries like the United States. The Ukrainian authorities are tainted with nationalism and corruption, and the country is in the hands of oligarchic clans. The country’s leadership is controlled by foreign powers, which affects all levels of the state. Western civilization’s empty promises would have ensured rampant corruption, poverty and a bankrupt economy. Ukraine is a puppet state of the United States of America and is working on the production of its own nuclear weapons. This is tantamount to preparing for an attack on Russia, Putin said. Ukraine has the nuclear know-how from the Soviet era. If Ukraine acquires weapons of mass destruction, the global situation will change drastically. This cannot be ignored. At the end of his speech, Russian state television showed Putin signing a decree recognizing the breakaway provinces in eastern Ukraine. Putin said he was confident that the Russian population would support his decision.
