Public transport fares will increase by 10% from July

Public transport in the metropolis of Nice is not immune to inflation. From July 1, 2023, the prices of the Ligne d’Azur network will increase by 10%, “subject to the next deliberation at the metropolitan council”, specifies the community to 20 minutes by confirming the information of France Blue Azure. Thus, the unit ticket will drop from 1.50 euro to 1.70 euro and the annual subscription from 326.5 euros to just under 360 euros.

The “cheapest network in France”

The metropolis recalls that “before or after the price increase, the network remains the cheapest in France, for such an agglomeration” and that it has not increased its prices since 2013, “despite two new tram lines and ongoing projects such as a cable car”.

Next summer, the book of ten ten-euro tickets will also be finished. The prices will be decreasing from twelve tickets where a ticket will cost 1.50 euro, then 1.30 euro for 25 tickets and one euro for 50. “It will not be necessary to buy everything at once”, reassures the community which cites a “new magnetic card” to abandon paper.

From July 2023, tickets for the Chemins de Fer de Provence lines will also be integrated into the Ligne d’Azur management.
