PSV: big fights between Dutch hooligans and Lens supporters

While the Racing Club de Lens prepares to welcome PSV Eindhoven this Tuesday evening on the lawn of the Felix Bollaert stadium in the Champions League, serious and violent clashes are currently taking place in the city center of Lens between several hundred Dutch hooligans and a group of Lensois supporters. Numerous projectiles were thrown between the belligerents in these fights and the mobilized police forces were forced to calm the situation with tear gas fire.

As a reminder, the security grid planned for this evening is “significant and perhaps unprecedented” in Bollaert. RMC Sport explains that the match is classified as very high risk (4 out of 5) by the services of the National Division for the Fight against Hooliganism (DNLH). 2,000 Batavian supporters were expected in the north of France, including around 500 PSV hooligans. While the Vigipirate plan is already active, security does not want to take any risks by screening each area.
