When asked about his idols, Sergio Ramos answered surprisingly: There was no defender – and not even a Spaniard.

Sergio Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain has revealed who his role models used to be. “My idols, I had two or three, were Claudio Caniggia or Fernando Redondo,” said the Spaniard Amazon Prime.

The defender surprised with his choice. Because both Caniggia and Redondo were not actors for the last defensive row like Ramos. Caniggia is best known for his appearances as a striker for Argentina in the 1990 World Cup when the Albiceleste made it to the final.

Redondo was a regular at Real Madrid, Ramos’ ex-club, in the 1990s. In defensive midfield, he conducted between 1994 and 2000 for Los Blancos, with whom he won the Champions League, among other things.

Ramos joined PSG on a free transfer from Real in the summer. Due to injuries, however, he only played for the French this season.
