PSG formalizes the signing of promising Italian Cher Ndour

New formalization at PSG this Wednesday: Cher Ndour has joined the wave of Parisian signings in recent days. Great Italian hope, the 18-year-old midfielder had been free of any contract since the end of his lease at Benfica Lisbon.

Paris Saint-Germain continues its raid. In the pipes for several weeksthe Parisian club formalized this Wednesday the signature of Cher Ndour, a promising 18-year-old midfielder already an Italian U20 international. He commits for five years.

Like Milian Skriniar and Marco Asensio before him – but unlike Manuel Ugarte, Lucas Hernandez and Lee Kang-In for whom Paris had to take out the checkbook -, the native of Brescia arrives without financial compensation. Followed in France and England in particular, he had refused to extend his contract with Benfica Lisbon.

Trained at Atalanta Bergamo, the 18-year-old player, Kylian Mbappe fan and regularly compared to the Paul Pogba of his younger years, continued his polishing at the Benfiquistes, always eager for talents in the making. He has an appearance in the Championship with the pros this season, winning the title of Portuguese champion in the process.

An important element of the B team, Ndour won the Youth League in 2021-22 with the Lisbon club. He was one of the elements in the making of Benfica. It was he who preferred to continue his ascent away from La Liga Portugal, as confirmed by its president Rui Costa in mid-June during a general meeting.

With this wave of reinforcements, the champion of France puts into action the start of his new project, with Kylian Mbappé for the moment but without Lionel Messi. The club is in the process of resuming training, before a scheduled tour of Japan from July 22 to August 2 during which the Parisians will play three matches. Under the leadership now of Luis Enrique, and in the company of many new faces.
