PSG announce striker deal with Benfica’s Ramos and tease

As PSG announced on Monday evening, striker Goncalo Ramos is initially on loan from Portuguese title holders Benfica Lisbon until the end of the upcoming season.

“Gonçalo is a young, fantastic and highly motivated international player who fights for the team,” explained PSG boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi in the obligatory PR speech.

However, the Qatari businessman could not resist a comment towards Mbappé: “This is the kind of player we want for the future of our institution.”

The French for Ramos (22) a purchase option. The Portuguese international played a major part in Benfica’s team winning the title in his home country with 19 goals last season.

According to Portuguese media reports, Ramos’ loan fee is 20 million euros. The purchase price should therefore amount to a further 65 million euros.

All in all, Goncalo Ramos would become the third most expensive purchase in the history of the Parisian club. Only the transfers of Kylian Mbappé and Neymar were once more costly.

At PSG, Ramos could succeed Mbappé. The French want to sell the superstar, on Monday he trained with the so-called “Lofteurs”, i.e. training group 2.
