PS4 controller won’t turn off (Steam / Windows 10) | The hardware community for PC gamers

Hello, everyone,

my PS4 controller works fine in Steam games (connected with USB cable). However, I have the problem that the controller no longer switches off after ending a game in desktop mode (the controller LED remains lit).

There is a setting in Steam that turns off the controller after 5 minutes – but unfortunately that doesn’t work.

Pressing the PS button for 10 seconds also doesn’t work.

Once Steam is started, the controller turns on – and then it stays on even if I quit Steam. Just unplugging the USB cable turns it off again.

Basically, that wouldn’t matter, but for some reason the controller also blocks the screen from being switched off (i.e. the setting to save energy after x minutes).

Does anyone know the problem or has an idea what I can try?

Thank you.
