US President Biden’s promise during his campaign speech that he wanted to liberate Iran has been sharply criticized – by President Raisi and by young people. Any form of oppression is protested against.

Some are calling out “down with the dictator, down with Khamenei, down with the Basij militias and Revolutionary Guards” during the many demonstrations against the regime seven weeks after Mahsa Jina Amini’s death after a headscarf check.

The others condemn the US and Israel, like this regime supporter: “We have come in the name of God to show our strong fist to the powerful countries: America, Israel and also to the troublemakers responsible for the deaths of many innocent people, above all our security forces and Basijis.”

Her eyes look very soulful. She doesn’t reveal more. She wears a face mask and a chador, the black cloth that not only covers her hair but also her whole body. Answer to the US President

US President Jo Biden fueled this during an election campaign appearance yesterday: “Don’t worry, we will liberate Iran. They will liberate themselves pretty soon.”

A through ball for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Biden replied in his commemoration speech: “Mr. President, Iran was liberated 43 years ago. And we are determined not to be oppressed by you again. We will never be your dairy cow again.”

With this, Raisi refers to the Islamic revolution of 1979, during which the shah, who was considered to be close to the USA, was overthrown.

protests against oppression

People at the event cheer for the ultra-conservative President. Critics speak of a staging. Students are also there.

“We came here to show the whole world that we should not remain silent in the face of oppression. We Iranian students and young people came to show everyone that we must stand up against oppression, no matter what,” says a student. He means oppression by the West, the US and Israel.

Meanwhile, other students in many other places in Iran are also taking to the streets – against the oppression by the regime.
