In Brazil, tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets for the impeachment of President Bolsonaro. You accuse him of failure in the corona crisis and corruption in connection with the pandemic.

Tens of thousands of people protested again against the government of President Jair Bolsonaro in more than 90 Brazilian cities on Saturday. Demonstrators between the Amazon state of Roraima in the north, where many indigenous people live, and the Rio Grande do Sul, which is dominated by German immigrants, demanded, among other things, the impeachment of Bolsonaro, more vaccines against the coronavirus and jobs in times of the pandemic.

Court investigates several times against Bolsonaro

The protesters also called the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira, an “accomplice”. In the lower house of the Brazilian parliament, more than 100 motions for the impeachment of the right-wing extremist president have been submitted, to which Lira has not yet reacted.

The Supreme Court has launched several preliminary investigations against Bolsonaro and his entourage. The right-wing populist president had played down the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic and rejected protective measures and restrictions. Bolsonaro also doubts the sense of vaccinations and has emphasized several times that he himself has not yet been vaccinated against Corona. A parliamentary committee of inquiry into his government’s corona crisis management is running.

Protesters are protesting against the government for its handling of the pandemic and allegations of corruption in the purchase of corona vaccines.
