His name is Bond, James Bond – and has been for 60 years. That’s why, starting today, 60 exhibits from Bond films are up for auction at the Christie’s auction house in London. Also present: a scratched Bond car.

EON Productions, the British film company that produced almost all of the James Bond films, has opened up its props archive – and put 60 props from the films up for auction. Also available: the Aston Martin DB5 from “No Time To Die”.

In fact, it’s one of eight Aston Martins, because you can’t make a Bond film with just one, according to Meg Simmonds, director of archives at EON Productions. “The replicas were designed for various action scenes. There were DB5s that a stuntman would drive while sitting on the roof so the actors could focus on their acting. Some were designed as stunt cars so they could go down stairs and then we had cars with all the extras like the machine guns coming out of the headlights and the variable number plates.”

With scratches and shooting device

The Aston Martin, which is currently still attracting everyone’s attention at Christie’s auction house, looks badly scratched. But he has the famous shooting device and is the only stunt DB5 that is for sale.

The price is estimated at one and a half to two million pounds. As with three 007 auctions in the past, the auction will be for a good cause. Christie’s director Adrian Hume-Sayer explained: 100 percent of the sum that is offered for the exhibits at the respective hammer blow goes to almost fifty aid organizations and charities.

The proceeds from the Aston Martin DB5 support young people, but appropriately also active and former British secret service employees and special forces.

Clocks, posters and guitars will also be auctioned

At this auction, exhibits from all James Bond films will come under the hammer. There are numerous other cars, a motorcycle and even a speedboat, a “Duesenberg 007 electric guitar” and about Primo’s bionic eye.

But also old film posters, series of photos by Daniel Craig that show all his macho coolness, autographed clapperboards and sheet music – for example with the signatures of Daniel Craig, Billie Eilish and Hans Zimmer – are on offer.

And of course: various outfits and several watches, including the “OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m 007 Edition”, which Daniel Craig helped design.

The most valuable pieces come under the hammer today. The online auction with other exhibits, on the other hand, will run until October 5th.
