Prohibited demonstrations near the Constitutional Council

No gathering near the Constitutional Council from Thursday evening will be tolerated. While the wise men must make their decision on the highly contested government pension reform on Friday, the Paris police prefect will issue an order to ban any demonstration around the building from the evening before, we learned from police sources.

The decree must be put online “at the beginning of the afternoon” and come into force from “Thursday evening” to end “Saturday at 4:00 am”, specified this source. The prefect of police, Laurent Nuñez, issued this order at the request of Gérald Darmanin, according to the entourage of the Minister of the Interior.

The surroundings of the Constitutional Council, not far from which the procession of the demonstration on Thursday afternoon between Opéra and Bastille will pass, were symbolically briefly blocked by garbage cans on Thursday morning before being cleaned. The decision of the Elders of rue de Montpensier is scheduled for Friday at the end of the day.
