Professional basketball player Chance Comanche indicted for murder of young woman

An American professional basketball player has been in legal turmoil since Sunday. Chance Comanche, player of the Stockton Kings in the G League (the NBA minor championship), will indeed be indicted for the murder of a 23-year-old young woman, as Las Vegas police announced on Sunday in a statement. The 27-year-old pivot was already released on Friday from his contract with the G League branch of the Sacramento Kings, based in Stockton, due to his arrest in California for kidnapping.

According to Las Vegas police, Sakari Harnden, a 19-year-old woman, was also arrested in Nevada in connection with the same case. Chance Comanche and Sakari Harnden will be indicted for murder after the discovery of the body of Marayna Rodgers, a medical assistant from Washington state, police said in the press release.

“Early in the investigation, detectives suspected foul play and obtained evidence to arrest Harnden and her Comanche boyfriend for their roles in Rodgers’ kidnapping and disappearance,” police said. Information obtained after their arrest led to the finding and identification of Marayna Rodgers’ remains in a desert area near Henderson, Nevada. The victim was reported missing on December 7 in the Las Vegas area.
