The makers of the drawing and illustration app Procreate presented a new iPad app for animations on Friday evening German time. Procreate Dreams is slated for release on November 22nd and will be available for $19.99. The app aims to enable even beginners to easily create professional animated films. A price in euros has not yet been announced.

The new animation app should make it possible to create moving films in real time using touch controls and the Apple Pencil. This is made possible by using Apple’s Metal graphics engine in conjunction with the Apple silicon processor. This should also make it possible to import ProRes material in 8K resolution. Since the user does not have to worry about keyframes and the creation of paths, even beginners should be able to reach their goals quickly. Procreate users can use existing brushes from the painting app. It is said that the developers worked on the software for five years.

Procreate Dreams is intended to build on the success of the painting app released more than ten years ago, which has been downloaded millions of times and, according to the Australian-based development studio, has been the best-selling paid iPad app in the App Store for the past six years. Procreate has also received two Apple Design Awards. Procreate was also among the first apps customized for the iPad Pro in 2015.
