The main hearing on the allegation of animal cruelty is scheduled for March 16, the district court in Ansbach announced on Tuesday. The verdict could be pronounced on the same day. The public prosecutor’s office announced in October last year that the farmer had not adequately cared for the animals. 171 cattle died. “The animals did not receive sufficient food and water, nor did they receive the necessary veterinary treatment,” the prosecutor said at the time.
