Not quite 40 years ago, in January 1984, the first private broadcaster founded in Germany started its program. Today it is called Sat 1 and belongs to Pro Sieben Sat 1 Media SE – and it is coming under increasing economic pressure. The listed company from Unterföhring near Munich has had a new boss, Bert Habets, at the helm for almost a year now, who as a result is not only cutting around 400 jobs, but is now also massively restructuring the management structures.
