The Italian media group MFE wants to increase its stake in Pro Sieben Sat 1 to more than 25 percent. The company (formerly Mediaset), controlled by the family of Italian ex-government leader Silvio Berlusconi, is already by far the largest shareholder in the television chain and directly and indirectly holds a total of 23.9 percent. MFE announced on Friday that they are seeking permission from the Federal Cartel Office to be able to exceed the 25 percent threshold. Media For Europe (MFE) confirmed a report by Reuters.
