ProSieben is discontinuing its “Zervakis & Opdenhövel. Live” format. The broadcaster announced this in a statement. Accordingly, the magazine will run one last time – on December 20th.
The show has been running since 2021, and the “Tagesschau” spokeswoman Linda Zervakis and the former “Sportschau” presenter Matthias Opdenhövel were supposed to give the entertainment channel a journalistic face. The idea of the then station boss Daniel Rosemann: The magazine should be “informatively entertaining”.
Now, more than three years later, ProSieben boss Hannes Hiller speaks of a “very painful decision not to continue #ZOL 2024”. They said they wanted to continue working with Opdenhövel and Zervakis. Hiller doesn’t give a reason for the show’s end – but it probably lies in the very low ratings recently. In October, only 3.9 percent of 14 to 49 year olds watched, which was the weakest rate in a year.
