Pro D2 – Béziers sees red on the pitch of a sensational US Dax!

Pro D2 – This meeting held a spectacular scenario at the end of which, the Landais defeated the Héraultais with a score of 57 to 20! Reduced to 14 after half an hour of play, the Biterrois took the lead against a dazzling Dacquoise team.

US Dax and Béziers both had the opportunity to do well this evening. The Landais were able to maintain their position while the Héraultais were able to make a gap on Provence Rugby who had lost the day before in Nevers. But as always in sport, there can only be one winner and this evening, there was no photo between these two teams. The Landais literally rolled over the Biterrois who suffered the full force of Koen’s direct exclusion in the 30th minute of play.

We surrender blow for blow

The debates were generally balanced during the first 30 minutes of this meeting. Confident and realistic, the ASBH players managed to score at the foot immediately after conceding points. The first alert of the evening was sounded by the former player of the Biterroise house, Jean-Baptiste Barrère, who scored the first in a long series of tries for his team in the 14th minute of play. A little undisciplined, the reds and white still allowed Béziers to stay in the game (10/6, 30th minute of play).

Patatras…

After the mistake of Gatelier who missed a try due to a careless error, it was Duprat who once again blew the Béziers lock. With a nice flick of his right hand, he lobbed a stunned Lorre to bring the score to 17 to 6 (31st). But it was on the dismissal that the match changed following a Koen’s unlawful charge on Barrère. After a quick viewing of the images, the referee issued a logical red card against the South African which left his partners in a very delicate situation. Especially since Wasley stunned the visitors a little more by scoring a try in the minute that followed (22/6, 32nd). Dax’s lead was validated a few minutes later with a strong try which brought the score at the break to 29 to 6.

A wild second period

Despite an acquired score, the Landais continued their efforts! Naseara scored a double with the power that characterizes him while Gatelier completed a 90-meter counterattack that brought the entire Maurice Boyau stadium to its feet. Proud, the Biterrois did not lower their heads and managed to score two tries including one of 80 meters on an interception by Lorre who, for the anecdote, ended up between the poles with his shorts at the bottom of his thighs following the Naseara’s desperate intervention. In short, with 8 tries on the clock, the red and white inflicted a real beating on Béziers who surely did not expect such a scenario this evening.

Béziers misses the mark, Dax can dream of better than maintaining

Defeat of Provence yesterday and defeat of Vannes this evening! Béziers had the opportunity to take back the reins of Pro D2 but was disillusioned… This heavy defeat, in a burlesque match which does not reflect the true level of this team, therefore creates a status quo at the top of the championship. A little further down, in 7th place, we find a Dax team which, with the balance in hand, can start to dream of a crazy end to the season. Tied on points with 6th Colomiers, Jean-Frédéric Dubois’ men can launch without pressure into the end of the championship where they will have everything to gain.
