Prison closed for eleven Albanian pimps who exploited twenty prostitutes

They lived in squats in Toulouse and exploited around twenty prostitutes who worked north of the city. Eleven defendants from the Albanian community, including two women, were sentenced on Friday to terms ranging from 3 to 6 years in prison for “aggravated pimping”, “trafficking in human beings” and “criminal association”.

The protagonists all come from the same district of Tirana, the Albanian capital. The network brought them up to 20,000 euros per month. The two women accomplices sometimes recovered part of the winnings. The men took the rest of the cash and sent money orders to Albania.

For nine of the 11 defendants, the sentences handed down are accompanied by a ban on French territory.
