Princess Märtha Louise has revealed when she will marry her partner Durek Verrett. King Harald and Queen Sonja will be there.

Princess Märtha Louise (51) and Durek Verrett (48) will get married in August 2024. The Norwegian royal family has now announced this. King Harald V. (86) and his wife Sonja of Norway (86) congratulated their daughter and her fiancé with the announcement: “The Queen and I are pleased that Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verret announced their wedding plans today We are delighted to welcome Durek Verrett to the family and we look forward to celebrating the big day with them. We wish Märtha and Durek all the best.”

The Crown Prince couple Haakon (50) and Mette-Marit (50) of Norway also congratulate Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett on their wedding in August next year in the message. We are happy for them and look forward to being with them in Geiranger celebrate. We wish Märtha, Durek and the girls all the best for the future.”

Special location

The town of Geiranger in western Norway “is known for its spectacular fjord and dramatic mountains. The Geirangerfjord is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and represents Norway’s rich culture and natural beauty,” explains Märtha Louise about the location on Instagram. There she also announced the date of the wedding: “Durek Verrett and I are pleased to announce that our upcoming wedding will take place on August 31, 2024 at the historic Hotel Union in Geiranger.”

Second marriage for Märtha Louise

The Norwegian princess and the American shaman, who have been a couple for four years, got engaged in 2022. It will be the 51-year-old’s second marriage. She was married to the writer and artist Ari Behn (1972-2019) from 2002 to 2017. Their three daughters were born in 2003, 2005 and 2008.
