Politicians and celebrities react with compassion
Princess Kate has revealed that she is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

Kate’s announcement of her cancer diagnosis has sparked an outpouring of sympathy. These celebrities and politicians are showing their support.
Princess Kate (42) was diagnosed with cancer last Friday (March 22nd). made public. Politicians and stars around the world reacted to the sad news and sent their well-wishes. Many of them also condemned the media coverage that has fueled speculation about Kate’s health in recent weeks.
Politicians and organizations share their wishes for Kate
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (43) has at X released a statement. “My thoughts are with the Princess of Wales, the Prince of Wales, the Royal Family and especially their three children at this difficult time. The Princess of Wales has the love and support of the entire country as she continues her recovery.”
With her announcement she had shown “tremendous courage,” Sunak wrote. In recent weeks she has faced intense scrutiny and been treated unfairly by certain sections of the world media and on social media. “When it comes to her health, she, like everyone else, must have the opportunity to focus on her treatment and be with the family who loves her. I know that I speak for the entire country when I wish her a full and speedy recovery and I look forward to seeing her back in action when she is ready.”
French President Emmanuel Macron (46) explained at X about himself and his wife: “Brigitte and I wish you a full recovery in this difficult time you are going through. Your strength inspires us all.” First Lady Jill Biden (72) shared Kate’s video message at X and commented: “You are brave and we love you.”
Organizations for which Kate serves as a patron also sent their wishes. The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club explained at X: “The thoughts of all members of the All England Club are with our patron HRH The Princess of Wales, HRH The Prince of Wales and her family at this time. We wish the Princess of Wales all the best and the time she needs to make a full recovery .”
Hollywood support for Princess Kate
Celebrities also showed their condolences on social media. The Welsh-born actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (54) wrote on Instagram to a picture of Kate: “Wales and the world are with you. HRH Princess of Wales. Only love to you.”
US actress Jamie Lee Curtis (65) also shows her support on Instagram and vented her anger at the reporting in recent weeks: “Can we please just stop with this idiotic conspiracy theory? It’s about a person with small children who obviously has a health problem. This is a private matter. […] This is a real low point in our society when there are so many important issues that need our attention. And now Princess Kate has informed us of her health and we should send her and her family nothing but our best wishes.”
Tom Hanks’ (67) wife Rita Wilson (67), who announced in 2015 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, agreed with Jamie Lee Curtis and emphasized in an Instagram post: “The Princess of Wales has bravely revealed that she has cancer. She has a right to keep her health secret. We all do. Or at least we should. You have to think a lot about whether you want to reveal your diagnosis or not.”
Wilson hopes Kate didn’t feel pressured to share it with the world, “but I’m sure her announcement will help women around the world who may be going through cancer treatment themselves. Her message ‘You are not alone ‘ is true. I pray that she feels the support of everyone who wishes her the best and wants her to get well as soon as possible.”
Princess Kate’s post also received encouraging messages and well-wishes. “Love and prayers to you and your family,” wrote Ivanka Trump (42). “A pillar of grace and strength. Sending my love,” commented Gwyneth Paltrow (51). “We love you,” wrote Lilly Becker (47) and added the hashtag #QueenKate.
