Princess Kate is involved in many charitable causes and has also helped her own brother James.

Princess Kate (41) has been involved in a variety of charities for many years, including mental health projects. This engagement of his sister and her husband, Prince William (41), has Kate’s younger brother now praised on British television.

He thinks it’s “fantastic that they’re in a position where they can also talk about their own mental health,” said James Middleton (36) on the TV show “Good Morning Britain”. In general, this is more of a challenge, he explains. Middleton, who is currently expecting a child with his wife Alizee Thevenet, has spoken out about his depression on several occasions in recent years.

James Middleton was not able to talk about it at first

Kate’s brother recalls thinking it was “impossible” for him to say “out loud the words that I was depressed or thought I was depressed.” However, some of Kate and William’s mental health work over the past few years has given him the confidence to speak up.

He has to thank the two for that, explains Middleton. The 36-year-old now sees it as a kind of responsibility to talk about it himself, “because it was part of my journey to actually get to where I am now”. And that’s a point where he’s still struggling, but where he can control his mental health.

William and Kate, together with Prince Harry (38), started the “Heads together” initiative, which is about, among other things, fighting the stigma surrounding mental health and providing people with the appropriate help.

His dog Ella helped him

in one Middleton revealed a guest post for the Daily Mail in 2019that his dogs, especially his dog Ella, helped him through his darkest times. She even accompanied him to his therapy sessions for his depression. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the year he had to announce that Ella, who had been by his side for 15 years, died in his arms after a short illness.
