Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar send greetings to the Swedish Lucia Festival. The photo comes from Mama Victoria herself.

“Happy Lucia morning!” wishes the Swedish royal family on their social media accounts. They also published a photo of Princess Estelle (11) and Prince Oscar (7), which according to the description was taken by their mother, Crown Princess Victoria (46), at Haga Castle.

In the photo, the two children are dressed in traditional white robes. While the daughter of Victoria and Prince Daniel (50) poses barefoot, her younger brother wears white socks. In addition to the basket of cookies – including the typical light saffron pastry – that the eleven-year-old presents to the camera, the two headgear are particularly noticeable. The princess wears a wreath of lights with candles, the prince wears a white pointed hat with gold stars.

The Lucia Festival is one of the most beautiful pre-Christmas traditions in Sweden. It is celebrated on December 13th, the feast day of Saint Lucia, and originally brightened the shortest day of the year.
