Princess Diana died 26 years ago. On the anniversary of her death, her brother Charles commemorates the Queen of Hearts with a childhood photo.
Charles Spencer (59), Princess Diana’s (1961-1997) younger brother, commemorated his late sister. On the day of her death he posted a childhood photo together on social media. Today’s 9th Earl Spencer stands next to his sister. Young Diana Spencer has her arm around her brother’s shoulders and looks at the camera. The two children are wearing summer clothes, Diana a pink dress, her brother blue shorts and a polo shirt.

Charles Spencer did not add a text to his post. Numerous users commented on the photo on X (formerly Twitter). Among other things, it says: “Lovely photo. Diana was so adorable and certainly the best big sister. I grew up loving Diana, like most people in this world. By being who you are, wearing it Helping keep her goodness and spirit alive. Thank you for that.”
Another user wrote of Diana: “I miss her in this world.” And to Charles Spencer: “I am so grateful that you are here and doing a phenomenal job of bringing the Spencer family closer to the world, grounding us all and connecting us to history. It gives us all a great sense of security .”
Princess Diana died on August 31, 1997
Today, August 31, marks the 26th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. The ex-wife of today’s King Charles III. (74) was traveling in a Mercedes sedan with her new love, businessman and Harrods heir Dodi Al-Fayed (1955-1997), and her bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones (55) when the car went through the tunnel of the Pont de l’Alma crashed into a concrete pillar in Paris.
Dodi Al-Fayed and the driver of the car, Henri Paul (1956-1997), died at the scene of the accident. Trevor Rees-Jones survived with serious injuries including his head. Diana was pronounced dead at the hospital at 4am. She was only 36 years old.
