“Deeply shocked” by Hamas attacks

William and Kate condemned the Hamas attacks in a statement. They are “deeply dismayed” and hope for peace.
The British royals are now also commenting on the attacks on Israel by the terrorist militia Hamas. A spokesman for Prince William (41) and his wife, Princess Kate (41), published including on X (formerly Twitter), a longer statement. They are shocked and hope for peace soon.
“The Prince and Princess of Wales are deeply saddened by the devastating events that have occurred in recent days,” it said. “The horrors wrought by Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel are appalling; they condemn them in the strongest possible terms.” As Israel exercises “its right to self-defense,” all Israelis and Palestinians will continue to be haunted by grief, fear and anger in the period ahead. According to the statement, Kate and William “carry all the victims, their families and their friends in their hearts and thoughts.”
In the summer of 2018, William became the first British royal to officially travel to Israel and Palestine. “The people the Prince of Wales met in 2018 overwhelmingly shared a common hope – that of a better future,” it continues. “In the midst of such terrible suffering, the Prince and Princess continue to share this hope unreservedly.”
King Charles III calls Israel’s president
According to media reports, King Charles III. (74) meanwhile spoke on the phone with Israel’s President Isaac Herzog (63), among others. Herzog’s office have confirmed according to “Sky News”.that Charles had called to express his condolences and dismay. Sources from the palace spoke about it according to the “BBC”.that the king was “horrified” and condemned the “barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel.”
A palace spokesman previously confirmed that Charles was extremely concerned about the situation and had asked to be kept updated: “His thoughts and prayers are with all those suffering, particularly those who have lost loved ones […].”
