They share intimate backstage photos

Prince William and Duchess Kate have released new pictures of the Earthshot Prize gala and given a look behind the scenes.
The Earthshot Prize was awarded for the first time in London last Sunday. The environmental award was launched through the Royal Foundation by Prince William (39) and Duchess Kate (39). The two royals now have on twitter special photos of the award are published.
Chris Jackson’s atmospheric black and white photos show the couple behind the scenes at the gala. In one photo they emerge radiant from behind a curtain, in the other Duchess Kate lovingly puts her hand on her husband’s back. In the third picture, Prince William can be seen waiting behind the stage alone. “Kate was obviously really proud of him when he came back from his speech,” said the photographer in charge the US magazine “People”. “She was looking at the screen the whole time backstage. They are a really strong team.”
Stylish appearance
What the photos do not reveal: In keeping with the event for a better future, Prince William walked across the green carpet in a green velvet jacket. Underneath, the royal wore a black turtleneck sweater. Duchess Kate chose a soft purple dress by designer Alexander McQueen for the occasion.
The event is to take place annually until 2030 and each five winners will be rewarded with prize money of 1 million pounds (the equivalent of around 1.2 million euros). The aim is to find 50 solutions to the world’s biggest environmental problems, such as air pollution and garbage pollution. “Seeing the incredible solutions developed by the first prize winners – and all of our finalists – shows us that the answers are out there” , explains Prince William to “People” magazine. “By recognizing these efforts, we can inspire confidence that a healthier and more sustainable future is not far away.”
