Official documents from Prince Harry now show that he has actually been living in the USA with Meghan Markle and his children since 2018. England is a thing of the past.

Montecito – Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan (42) withdrew from royal service in February 2020 and dared to make a new start in sunny California. While daughter Princess Lilibet (2) only visited Great Britain once, Prince Archie (4) spent his first year of life among the British royals. He would hardly remember it. His father, Prince Harry, did, but the Duke of Sussex has now decidedly cut ties with his country of birth.

The change signals a clear break with Great Britain. Did the second born King Charles III. (75), who previously stated his main place of residence as “Great Britain”, has since last year been listed in black and white in the British Companies House documents as “New Country/State of Ordinary Residence” as “America”. Prince Harry is no longer mentally a prodigal son of Great Britain, but a Briton with his official primary residence in the United States.

With this, Harry confirms what he has actually done since 2020. After a short stay in Canada, the dropout royals rented a $14 million villa in Montecito. Since then, the 18,000 square meter property, with nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms as well as a sauna, gym, games room and arcade, has been home to Harry’s family, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet.

Companies House

Companies House maintains the commercial register in the United Kingdom. Unlike in Germany, this is not a court, but an administrative authority subordinate to the Ministry of Economic Affairs with its headquarters in Cardiff and branches in London, Edinburgh and Belfast.

Prince Harry could face trouble with US immigration authorities

It is currently unclear whether the decision has anything to do with the recent developments surrounding Harry’s visa. The Heritage Foundation (a think tank) had raised concerns about Prince Harry’s visa application following the publication of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, as the British king’s son claimed in his memoirs that he had taken coke, weed and magic mushrooms .

The Heritage Foundation argues that releasing the immigration documents would prove whether Harry lied about his past drug use on his visa application. They say that if Harry had given false information, the worst-case scenario would be expulsion. However, public access to data is currently unfounded and therefore inadmissible. After a lot of legal back and forth, the decision was made last Monday (April 15th): Harry would not be deported from the USA regardless of the outcome of the trial.
