Prince Harry is currently in Germany as part of the “Invictus Games”. On Saturday he paid a visit to the ZDF sports studio – and had to demonstrate his football skills there.

Mainz – The “Invictus Games” are taking place in Germany for the first time. So of course Prince Harry (38) didn’t miss the opportunity to travel to Düsseldorf for the big opening ceremony. After all, the son of King Charles III. (74) launched the international sporting event for soldiers in 2014. However, the 38-year-old couldn’t stay in Düsseldorf for long on Saturday evening because he was invited to the ZDF sports studio – and experienced a massive defeat there live on television.

In front of the cameras: Prince Harry misses the goal wall several times

A few hours earlier, the Düsseldorf royal fans were disappointed that Prince Harry had not had time for autographs and photos. But in Mainz the anticipation for the 38-year-old was still huge: When the famous guest entered the ZDF sports studio, he was greeted with thunderous applause from the audience. “It was a very warm welcome,” Prince Harry raved about the German fans in an interview with Katrin Müller-Hohenstein (58).

Prince Harry used his visit to the ZDF sports studio primarily to talk about the “Invictus Games”. But ZDF also had other plans for the father of two: he was supposed to showcase his soccer skills while shooting at the goal wall. “What happens if you don’t meet anyone?” Meghan Markle’s husband (42) was immediately skeptical. And his premonition came true: despite six attempts, Prince Harry didn’t land a hit.

Good loser: Prince Harry doesn’t let football bankruptcy ruin his mood

The football embarrassment had consequences for Prince Harry. Since Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (63) scored two hits, the Briton was threatened with a penalty as the loser. He had to put on a Mainz 05 scarf in front of the camera. The 38-year-old took it with humor and even had a quick saying ready: “Is this the new football coach for Germany? He could still do that on the side,” he grinned, looking at the SPD politician.
