The matter is close to his heart: Prince Harry openly reported his burnout at a conference and asked companies to protect their employees. Not everyone understood that.

It was a moving speech: At a virtual conference by the coaching company BetterUp, Prince Harry – together with his tennis player friend Serena Williams – spoke unusually openly about his own mental problems on Thursday. The son of Prince Charles and Diana described that he had suffered a burnout.

The royal took this as an opportunity to call on those present to “focus on their own well-being”. That’s not always easy, reported the father of two. But he now takes 30 to 45 minutes for himself every morning.

The prince asked companies to give their employees the time to do so. In the end, everyone would benefit from this: the employees are more efficient at work and also have more time for their family life: “It’s a complete network cycle that ultimately benefits everyone around you,” said actress Meghan Markle’s husband the conference.

Prince Harry is not particularly popular in his homeland

In his homeland, these statements were not particularly well received. There, many people resent him for leaving the island and resigning from his royal obligations. Apparently, many Britons are not aware that the representative appointments are also work. Not to mention how draining it must be to be constantly in the public eye and being watched.

And so there was mockery and malice for the prince’s statements on social media: “What is he talking about? He has never worked in his life,” commented a user on Twitter. Another added: “He doesn’t even know what the word work means.”

On the other hand, the open words of the royal fell on open ears with other users. Thank you for the interesting suggestions. One user even compared him to the obsessed heir to the throne, Prince William: “He’s so refreshingly different from his brother.”

Perhaps the best compliment for Prince Harry. It shows that he seems to have made progress on his way.
