Criticism of Harry and Meghan’s new website: Commercial use of the name Sussex could have consequences.

The new website of Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan (42) is currently causing all sorts of criticism. Above all, the fact that they are now using the name royal Sussex despite their withdrawal from the British royal family is offensive to many aristocratic fans. However, a source close to Harry and Meghan defended the renegade couple told the Daily Mail. The prince and his wife are officially the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to the insider: “That’s their first and last name.”

Harry and Meghan launched their new website on February 12, 2024 under the title “Sussex.com”. Your old site “Archewell.com”, which previously provided information about your activities, now leads directly to the new homepage.

New Sussex page without reference to royal duties

“Sussexroyal.com”, Harry and Meghan’s very old site, which was created before the couple moved to the USA, is still available. However, it only shows content from the time before Megxit; a link there invites you to switch to the new homepage. The “Royal” part of the name has disappeared from the address. There is also no reference on the new site to the fact that you are in the service of the monarchy. You can still read this on the old page. The royal coat of arms can also be seen on “Sussex.com”.

This could cost Harry and Meghan dearly. Because if they use their new site for commercial purposes, the royal family could have them taken down. At least that’s what insiders claim told the Daily Mail. “It’s just unbelievable that they can’t see how awkward it is,” the source said of the new site.

There is actually a reference to commercial activities on the site. A link leads to Archewell Productions, Harry and Meghan’s film production company. The duo is currently said to be working on various formats for Netflix – despite rumors that Netflix has put their collaboration with the Sussexes on hold.
