At a playground opening, Prince Charles explored a tree house with children that is reminiscent of the childhood of his sons William and Harry.

On Thursday (January 20), Prince Charles (73) opened a playground in Scotland on behalf of his The Prince’s Foundation. A large playground made from natural materials now stands on the grounds of Dumfries House. To celebrate, the heir to the throne, known as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, crossed a suspension bridge with some children and explored the various slides and tunnels. The images of the spectacle were published on Instagram.

Prince Charles seems to have had a lot of fun at the opening. According to the “Daily Mail” Paul Travers, who was involved in the design of the playground, observed what was happening. Accordingly, Charles thought it was “amazing”. The 73-year-old “didn’t climb the slide, but he encouraged the children to slide down and watched them do it,” he said. Travers also thinks he heard Prince Charles tell a kid, “Let’s see how fast you can slide.”

Royal tree house as a model

The adventure playground also includes a play tower inspired by a very special tree house. The original is on the royal family estate in Highgrove and was built in 1989 for Prince Williams (39) seventh birthday.

In 2015, the tree house was renovated for Prince William’s son and Prince Charles’ grandson, Prince George (8). In the meantime he probably plays there with his siblings Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis (3).
