Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are planning a new trip: In May, the royal couple should go to Canada.
Prince Charles (73) and Duchess Camilla (74) have announced a big trip: On the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum anniversary (95), the two will fly to Canada in May. The royal couple shared this, among other things on Instagram With. Charles and Camilla will visit communities in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ottawa and the Northwest Territories.
As the post goes on to say, Charles and Camilla are already “looking forward” to their trip. Most recently, the two visited Canada in 2017. It’s a place that’s very dear to both of them, Charles explained on a recent trip there. “We always feel at home in Canada and are very touched by the warmth with which we are received here,” said the 73-year-old.
Justin Trudeau is looking forward to Charles and Camilla’s visit
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (50) shared in a statement saying he and his wife Sophie, 46, are “delighted to greet Their Royal Highnesses and show them some of the many reasons why we are proud to be Canadian”. Charles and Camilla will have “a wonderful opportunity to experience first-hand the diversity and friendliness of Canadians and the beauty of our rich natural landscapes” during their visit, Trudeau said.
To mark the Queen’s Jubilee, the royal couple will also “participate in various initiatives to honor the Queen’s service and commitment to our country.” The Royals will “meet with inspiring Canadians who are making a difference in our communities.”
The British royal family has a close relationship with Canada: it is the Queen’s most-visited country during her reign. Charles first visited the North American country in 1970. According to the “Daily Mail” he has traveled there 18 times, Queen Elizabeth II 22 times. For Camilla, May’s trip will be her fifth visit to Canada.
