Prince Andrew’s settlement with Virginia Giuffre may have gotten his head out of the noose, but it did even more damage to his public image.
According to various polls and statistics, Prince Andrew is the most unpopular British royal. His out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who accuses him of sexually abusing her, hasn’t improved his reputation.
Princess Eugenie apparently wants to start a podcast
Not much is known about the influence Andrew’s scandalous relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, Giuffre’s allegations or his disastrous BBC interview had on his relationship with his daughters. The relationship between the Duke of York, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie is said to be close. And Andrew also has an intimate relationship with ex-wife Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson. However, a column in the “Daily Mail” provides information that the out-of-court settlement did not leave Princess Eugenie cold.
According to columnist Emily Prescott, Princess Eugenie is working hard to distance herself from her father’s reputation. According to royal sources, she plans to further her own charitable efforts. She recently announced a podcast project dealing with issues such as sex trafficking and slavery. However, there are said to have been no conversations with her father in this regard. Prescott also claims to have learned that Eugenie only met her father a month after the out-of-court settlement.
Sister relationship broken
While Princess Eugenie was in the United States for a long time and met her cousin Prince Harry there several times, her sister, Princess Beatrice, was at home. “There was uneasiness about a rift between father and daughter and even between Princess Beatrice and Eugenie. There is a sense that Beatrice is closer to her father at the moment,” a royal insider told the Daily Mail.
However, a break like the one between Harry and Prince William is unlikely. “Any distance between the family members could never last – they’re too close for that,” the insider explains.
