It’s Prince Alexander of Sweden’s birthday. The eldest son of Prince Carl Philip and his wife, Princess Sofia, turns eight.

Prince Carl Philip of Sweden (44) and his wife Princess Sofia (39) delight royal fans with a sweet portrait. Her eldest son Prince Alexander turns eight today, April 19th. To mark the occasion, the royal couple posted a cute photo of their offspring on your own Instagram account. The birthday child smiles into the camera in a white shirt.

“Today we celebrate our beloved Alexander, who turns 8,” the proud parents wrote. There are numerous well-wishers for the Swedish mini royal in the comments.

Alexander is fifth in line to the throne

Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil, Prince of Sweden, was born on April 19, 2016 in Danderyd. His father Carl Philip is the second child of the Swedish King Carl XVI. Gustaf (77) and his wife, Queen Silvia (80). The birthday child is currently fifth in line to the throne. He is preceded by his aunt, Crown Princess Victoria (46), her two children and his father.

Since a decision in 2019, Carl Philip and Sofia’s children are no longer part of the royal family, but only part of the royal family. As a result, they are viewed as private individuals and can later pursue professions that are barred to members of the royal family.

Two birthdays in a short space of time

Just three weeks ago, the Swedish royals had reason to celebrate: Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia’s youngest son Julian celebrated his third birthday. The family also shared about him a cute picture including a birthday cake in the web.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have been in a relationship since 201o. Five years later they tied the knot in Stockholm. The couple has a total of three children: Alexander’s birth in 2016 was followed a year later by the arrival of his second son, Prince Gabriel Carl Walther (6). The youngest child, Prince Julian, completed the family in 2021.
