At night, the police pick up a homeless family in a furniture store who had been living there secretly for weeks. To Isa’s (Sabine Postel) outrage, the parents are reported for trespassing and property damage, taken into custody and separated from their little son, who is taken into the care of the youth welfare office. In court, Isa passionately fights for the family that has fallen into poverty through no fault of their own.

Who owns the baby in the closet? How does the tiger get into the bathroom? Why is one of the boys missing a tooth? And above all: where is the groom?

One evening, a visibly distraught woman appears with Chief Inspector Maigret (Rowan Atkinson) at police headquarters. The young Arlette (Olivia Vinall) works as a dancer and entertainer in a wicked club in Paris’ entertainment district of Montmartre. She claims to have overheard a conversation about a planned murder of a countess involving a certain Oscar. But Maigret and his team have little faith in the young lady because of her condition. It hits the chief inspector even harder when they receive the news the next morning that Arlette has been found strangled in her apartment.

The devilish genius Dr. Loveless (Kenneth Branagh) plots an assassination attempt on the President with the help of his invention, the stilt armored thing called the Tarantula. The US government finds out about this and assigns Agent James West (Will Smith) to prevent the assassination. At first he gets in the way of agent Artemus Gordon (Kevin Kline), who has the same goal. And when they finally work together, the beautiful Rita (Salma Hayek) suddenly appears – making it difficult for the two of them to concentrate on the job.
