Presidential election in Russia: Putin promises to respond to Ukrainian attacks in border regions and accuses kyiv of wanting to “disrupt” the vote

Since the opening of polling stations in Russia this Friday, March 15, as part of the presidential election, several incidents have marred the vote. Most of the arrested suspects said they acted on orders from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Moscow also accuses kyiv of being behind several bombings in border regions.

From this Friday March 15 until Sunday March 17, the presidential election will take place in Russia. A period during which the population is called to go to the polls. But now, from the first day, several incidents took place in polling stations all over the country.

Ink poured into a ballot box, a molotov cocktail thrown at the entrance to a polling station, a voting booth set on fire… Thirteen people were arrested, indicates BFMTV. Acts which, for the most part, would have been orchestrated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) as evidenced by the individuals arrested.

At the same time, the Ukrainian army also apparently bombed several border regions, including two local electoral commissions without causing any casualties, underlines the Huffingtonpost.

Vladimir Putin said that “these enemy strikes do not and will not remain unpunished” and denounced kyiv’s attempt to want “disturb” the presidential election.
