Guardiola on record man Haaland: “Erling is incredible”

Even coach Pep Guardiola was amazed by the new Premier League record scorer Erling Haaland. “He’s amazing. He’s only 22 – with five games left,” said the Spaniard after the Norwegian scored his 35th goal in the English Premier League for Manchester City.
The Norwegian replaced Andrew Cole (1993/94) and Alan Shearer (1994/95) as previous record holders. “We expected him to score but for him to break Cole’s and Shearer’s records…” said Guardiola in disbelief.
With a 3-0 win in the catch-up game against West Ham United on Wednesday, Man City overtook Arsenal again and are now one point ahead of the team from London. The Bayern conqueror in the Champions League has also played one game less than the title rival.
Dutchman Nathan Aké (50th), Haaland (70th) and Phil Foden (85th) scored the goals for the hosts. Foden’s goal was also the 1000th in Guardiola’s coaching era at Citizens.
