England international Raheem Sterling put Chelsea ahead in the 16th minute. With his goal, Serge Aurier (63rd) prevented the tenth defeat for the promoted team, who improved to 18th place by winning the point. Chelsea remain bottom of the table.
Tottenham Hotspur had previously lost their Champions League spot. The team around star striker Harry Kane lost their home game against Aston Villa 0: 2 (0: 0) and slipped to fifth place. The goals for the twelfth place were scored by Emiliano Buendia (50′) and Douglas Luiz (73′).
Arsenal FC extended their lead over Manchester City to seven points with a 4-2 (2-0) win at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. Coach Pep Guardiola’s team only managed to draw 1-1 (1-0) against Everton. Liverpool FC with coach Jürgen Klopp is still sixth in the table.
