Praise of the screen: The new pleasure in the cinema. – Culture

Great films without end, and annoying neighbors finally have to keep their distance: Why it has never been so nice to go to the cinema.

Actually, it’s totally idiotic to go anywhere this summer. Instead, here, in rainy Munich, you can get into a Fiat 500 and then drive 3000 kilometers along the entire Italian coast, via Genoa down to Messina, once around Sicily and then on the other side back up to Trieste. Or in a van through monotonous Montana, wide skies, empty land. Floating around on an old fishing trawler off the coast of Gaza. Catch cod with drunk Danes. Break into the empty Pergamon Museum in Berlin at night. Or if you are the completely sedentary type, just spend two hours in the Berlin corner pub “Zur Brust” and watch a star explode out of the dark.
