Death of a six-year-old: evaluation of traces and clues

The parents had sent their six-year-old to play in the afternoon as usual, but the boy died a gruesome death not far from the play location. It is still unclear who stabbed the child. However, investigators can probably rule out a specific motive.
Three days after the cruel one After the death of the six-year-old boy in Pragsdorf in the east of Mecklenburg, investigators are still looking for the perpetrator. “There is nothing new yet, we are still checking the information that has been given,” says a police spokeswoman for the German Press Agency.
If any further information arises, these would of course also be checked. Several officers were also deployed on Sunday to evaluate the case.
The six-year-old was found on Thursday evening with serious stab wounds in the bushes by a lake in the village. His parents reported him missing when he didn’t return from playing as usual in the afternoon. They had initially searched themselves without success. According to the police spokeswoman, the family lives only a few hundred meters from the crime scene.
The autopsy revealed that the six-year-old was stabbed – with a previously unknown stabbing tool. The police are investigating manslaughter. Forensic investigators are examining the boy’s clothing and a knife that was found in bushes in the village on Friday. Other traces collected in the area of the discovery site are also checked to see whether they could be part of the case – by checking for fingerprints and DNA traces such as blood and saliva.
The dead six-year-old was clothed when he was found by two firefighters. “There is no indication that there was a sexual motive behind it,” said the police spokeswoman. The spokeswoman was initially unable to say anything about the exact time of death.
A special commission has not yet been set up for the case. The Commissioner for Life and Health is working with a large number of investigators to investigate the child’s death.
