The LFP competitions commission acted on this rescheduling on Friday, which means that OL like Lorient will have to play five matches between Sunday August 28 and September 11, a very tight schedule.
The LFP, after having examined the lawn of the Moustoir stadium twice, announced on August 12 the postponement of the meeting initially scheduled for two days later. The drought and the organization of the Interceltic Festival had seriously damaged the playing area. OL regretted that this decision had not been taken sooner, while Lorient, through the voice of its president Loïc Féry, had accused Lyon for having “pressured” the LFP to record the postponement.
