Post office cheated out of 20,000 euros – Bavaria

A man in Regensburg is said to have defrauded Deutsche Post of 20,000 euros. The 30-year-old had ordered high-quality goods several times, a police spokesman said on Saturday. The man then explained to the post office that the goods had not arrived or that he had sent them back. He then withheld the compensation for the alleged loss.

After several such incidents, the postal service recognized the scam. The case has now been solved and the man is being investigated for fraud. According to the police spokesman, the orders were for technical devices such as a cell phone.
