The first jungle campers take off
Now things are getting serious for the first candidates. In Frankfurt am Main they take off in the direction of South Africa, just not to say a sentence there: “I’m a star – get me out of here!” In other words: for Harald Glööckler, Lucas Cordalis and Co. their jungle camp adventure begins.
It still takes eleven days until this year’s jungle camp opens its doors. The new season of “I’m a star – get me out of here!” officially going on in South Africa. But for some candidates, the adventure has already begun.
They met on Sunday at the airport in Frankfurt am Main before boarding the plane heading for the Cape of Good Hope. The stars have to complete a shorter flight this year than their predecessors from previous seasons of the show. Due to the corona pandemic, filming will finally take place in South Africa for the first time and not in Australia as before.
Peter Klein accompanies Lucas Cordalis
Lucas Cordalis, singer and husband of Daniela Katzenberger, arrived in Frankfurt with an old friend. Peter Klein is at his side. The husband of Katzenberger’s mother, Iris Klein, is a familiar face to the jungle camp team. He’s been to Australia twice to support his wife Iris and stepdaughter Jenny Frankhauser.

Cordalis posed for the photographers at the airport with a shoulder bag and clenched fists. Peter Klein also carried his hand luggage over his shoulder and sprayed with outstretched thumbs optimism that Cordalis will certainly do well in camp.
Fashion designer Harald Glööckler came to the airport without the company of his husband Dieter Schroth, but with a carrier bag from his own creation. Instead, the 56-year-old is supported by his personal trainer David Münch. Glööckler also used him to prepare for the jungle camp in the garden at home. Husband Schroth stays at home for health reasons.
From psychologist to influencer
Other officially confirmed candidates, along with an escort, also served at Frankfurt Airport. Jungle show winner Filip Pavlović has his reality colleague Serkan Yavuz in tow. Ex- “Prince Charming” candidate Manuel Flickinger trusts the psychologist Sonja Tolevski, with whom he runs the relationship podcast “Love Attack”. Ex- “Are you the One” participant Christin Okpara receives moral support from influencer Andrés N. De Vincenz.
Also confirmed as candidates are ex-“Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten” star Eric Stehfest and the actresses Tina Ruland and Anouschka Renzi.
“I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” starts on January 21st at 9.30 p.m. live on RTL. Many jungle tests later, the finals will take place on February 5th. At the “Big Reunion” of the stars on February 6th, we will find out whether the candidates can still smell each other after the end of the show. The broadcast is also available on RTL +.
