Portraits of Matthew Rolston: the man the stars trust

He was discovered in 1977 by Andy Warhol, who got him first orders for his magazine “Interview”. In the 80s, Matthew Rolston worked for magazines such as “Rolling Stone” and “Vanity Fair”. At that time, the American rose to become one of the great magazine photographers – alongside Herb Ritts, Bruce Weber and Annie Leibovitz. Rolston photographed almost all of the great stars of his time. The illustrated book “Hollywood Royale” shows more than 100 impressive portraits from the 1970s to the 1990s. The young Brigitte Nielsen posed for him as did Drew Barrymore or Cyndi Lauper at the height of their fame.

“Hollywood Royale: Out of the School of Los Angeles” by Matthew Rolston has been published by teNeues and costs 98 euros. More about the book below http://teneues-buecher.de/hollywood-royale
